LENTEN SEASON
2008
The Lenten Season for 2008 is fast approaching, a time for Forgiveness, Sacrifice, Self-Examination and Renewal. We are looking for Ministers and Members of the church to present their thoughts for publication prior to this period. Ideally we would like to have your compositions by January 20, 2008, or any time prior to that date. Our wish is to have the pamphlets available prior to February 10, 2008.
The Ministers are being asked to present four (4) topics leading up to February 10, 2008.
The Members are then asked to submit their ideas to prepare the church for the coming Lenten Celebration with the following subjects – Grace, Mercy, Love or VICTORY. We will need 7 persons per week, for a 5 week period to write out their reflections of the season on the above topics. It can be a Member at Large, Lay Organization, Missionary, Sunday School Class, Youth Church, Any Auxiliary, Bible Study Classes, etc.
The Following Format requested:
1. Scripture Reference
2. Meditation or Reflection
3. Short Prayer Related to chosen topic
It will be Ash Wednesday (February 13, 2008), before you know it.

From the Pastor’s Desk
Dear Friend in Christ,
Greetings in the Lord’s name! As you know, a special offering was lifted on last Sunday to pay a large portion of the church’s gas bill. The check had been written earlier in the week. It was imperative that we raise the necessary funds to cover that check. This we were able to do with the help of the Lord and the fine response of the Ebenezer Church Family.
While we certainly thank those who were able to give on last Sunday we need you to appreciate that we only paid the delinquent portion of the gas bill, we did not pay the entire bill. Therefore the gifts of those who have not given are still needed.
We will be providing a giving opportunity to those who were not in church last Sunday or not in a position to respond on last Sunday. It is important that all of us respond at the level that is requested or as we are able.
The gas bill is but one of several pressing needs. We remain hopeful however that the good Lord will make a way. Thank you to those who display their love for Ebenezer in a tangible way. I am encouraged by your response.
In His Name,
The Commission On Family Life
“Loose Change” Campaign
Can you spare your “Loose Change” to help a person in need? Donations of loose change will be used to provide discretionary funds to help individuals and families facing a critical financial need. Donations of spare change can be placed in the Loose Change Jar in the rear of the Church.
Thank you for caring and sharing with those in need.
